Fourth of July

The two weeks before the fourth of July were super busy. So we did not have any fourth of July plans. A friend asked me what our plans were and that was the same answer I gave her. She told me she thought going to the beach would be a fun way to see fireworks. Her suggestion triggered me to research some more and we made a plan of it. The fireworks were going to be the evening before the fourth. We packed up the car, made a dinner stop at a McDonald with a playground. We made it there in perfect time. The kids loved playing in the sand and the water and the weather was amazing. We happen to be sitting direct line to the barge where the fireworks would be set off. It was quite a spectacle. When the show finished we headed home with sand found everywhere, happy, tired children and a wonderful memory.

The following day we were invited to a birthday party of friends. C's friend from school and her brother. It was a very steamy, hot day. It was surely over 100 degrees. The party was an outdoor affair. There were lots of water involved and wonderful tasty food. I am not a huge fan of watermelon, but there was a tasty watermelon lemonade there that was delicious. At the end of our time being there, 4 1/2 hours later, the kids had a chance to hit the "gigantic" pinata. We all came home, changed into our pajamas and watched the fireworks on television in our nice air conditioned home. It was a delightful holiday spent with a family that I love so much!
