Spring Break-Disney World

Usually in January and February the coldest winter months in Indiana I begin to think about Florida and Disney World. Each year I plan out our imaginary journey/trip to Orlando and when spring  rolls around I enjoy what warmth Indiana has to offer. This year however was different. My imaginary trip became a reality. We booked our hotel  and made plans to go, since S and C's spring break coincided. Since it would fall on Easter weekend, we decided we would stop in South Carolina to visit one of S's sister and family and enjoy Easter together. The best part about the trip was that it was a surprise for our kids.

While in South Carolina, the kids enjoyed three easter egg hunts and lots of cousin play time. It was nice to have warmer weather than at home and the kids could spend a lot of time playing outside. We enjoyed a wonderful Easter Sabbath. We had a delicious Easter meal (ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, potato casserole, homemade rolls, and yummy lime cheesecake). With lots of kids around there wasn't a lot of time for adult time, but what time we did get to socialize we enjoyed. On Monday we headed out to make our way to the hotel and share the news with the kids.

At Waffle House on our way down South. The Waitress gave us our ticket and then shortly after came back and asked if she could see it. We wondered what she would need it for, since everything looked correct on it. She returned and said that the ticket had been paid for us. We thought that it was such a generous act of kindness and hope that we are doing our part to pass it on.

We took a stop at Flagler Beach, just north of Daytona Beach. The sand was very interesting. It was very coarse and felt like stepping on crushed up pretzels.   The two youngest were quite frightened by the whole experience. Em held onto anyone very tightly and was determined not to get down. (Luckily she is over that fear now.) E didn't like the feel of the sand on his feet, but honestly I could blame him. It was a short visit but we were anxious to get to the hotel and share the news with the kids.

We stayed a FairField Marriott hotel. It was one room with a wall dividing the kids bunk bed and the king size bed. E and C really enjoyed sleeping on the top bunk.

Our first night in Orlando, we spent at Downtown Disney. It was an extremely busy place It was fun to go into the shops and see what Downtown Disney had to offer. We were quite hungry, so instead of waiting in a long line at a place in DD, we left and headed to QDOBA for a nice big burrito.

MAGIC KINGDOM

We arrived in Florida on a Monday evening. We checked into our hotel and
made it to our room. We had you all gather on the king-size bed and
surprised you all with the news that we were heading ot Disneyworld
tomorrow. You all jumped and screamed for joy. Magic Kingdom was our first
day at the parks. We parked our car in Simba and rode to the tram to catch
the ferryboat that would take us to the entrance. We filed into the park
quickly and were on our way to a fun-filled day.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

We spent day two in Hollywood Studios. We left Emme with Gma for the day. We
were not in any hurry to get there. We wanted to enjoy whatever we were able to
do with out getting exhausted. Luckily most of the things we did on this day
required more sitting and watching, then waiting in long lines. We stayed late into
the evening and enjoyed a wonderful day at the park.

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE
Before we left Orlando, we really wanted to see the Temple. We found that it was located a few miles down the road from where we were staying. It was a beautiful temple and I love any chance we can get to see and be on the grounds. I especially enjoy it when our kids can be there too. They may not fully comprehend the importance of the temple, but can be given opportunities to experience it.
