Pinterest

These final days of summer, I have found that Pinterest can be a wonderful tool giving us ideas to try that keep us busy and learning. We have tried a few ideas and the kids have enjoyed what new thing we are going to try each day. What has been great about each activity is that each is low cost and more than likely uses things I have already in the house. I like to call each activity an experiment, but my kids usually end up saying "experience".

In these particular pictures, they drew a picture on paper towel using different color sharpie markers and them we placed a part of the paper towel in each tub. It didn't work like I thought it would. We thought maybe it was either the paper towel or the type of marker, so C decided that she wanted to try it again but use regular markers. Sure enough that was the answer. The two bottom pictures are their second drawings using regular markers and the "bleeding" of the marker worked this time.

We have made
1) glitter bottles (timeout bottles)
2) bubble snake
3) food color/paper towel experiment (2 different types)
4) ivory soap bar microwaved
